Nine Senegalese startups to pitch at Seedstars Dakar
Seedstars World has announced it will hold a pitch for 9 Senegalese startups at the Pullman Teranga in Dakar, Senegal, on September 22th, 2017.
The global startup competition has been visiting emerging markets and fast-growing startup scenes, including over 20 African countries to identify and select the most promising startups that will compete for up to 1 million dollars in equity funding and other prizes at the global Seedstars Summit scheduled to hold in Switzerland next year.
The Senegal round will see the emergence of a winner joining other winners from different African countries at the Seedstars Regional Summit in Mozambique in December. That winner will also represent the country at the global stage.
The startups invited for the pitch include Africa Digital Native (ADN), a data analytics startup; BAYSEDDO 2.0, a crowdfunding platform for farmers; Carvi Writer, a dgital publishing platform; Dassur, an insurance tech solution, and MaTontine, an online lending platform.
Others are PayDunya, an online customer management company; SenCivilities, a biodata management startup; Walam, an online volunteering platform and SKILLAKE, an online recruitment platform for tech professionals.
The pitch, which will be locally hosted by Concree, is organized in partnership with Groupe Cofina, the main supporter of Seedstars World Senegal and other regional partners such as Enel, Orange, Merck, VC4A and Microsoft 4Afrika.
Laissa Mouen of Groupe Cofina said her organization is “proud to support innovation and entrepreneurial spirit in Senegal by partnering with Seedstars World for Seedstars Dakar 2017 competition which aims at sourcing the most promising and innovative startups in Senegal.”
